Training in peace

(from Master Z's facebook page)

"Training in peace is actual training. It's being aware of your daily life and guarding your peace to conserve your energy. We often focus on physical resiliency, but neglect our minds and emotions. It's essential to train our minds and emotions to withstand life's chaos.

As a Kung Fu practitioner and teacher, I look at self-defense against physical attacks as very important. But I also look at attacks towards my peace as a more important defense. Defending my peace is crucial to maintaining my emotional and mental well-being.

Conserving your peace and emotional energy is crucial. If you see a wolf on your path, you wouldn't continue walking towards it. Similarly, if certain people or situations drain your energy, it's okay to take a different path.

I'm not saying avoid necessary tasks or responsibilities. However, preserving your peace of mind and energy is vital. If you don't, others may take from you.

Learning to sit in silence, what some call meditation, is a powerful practice of peace. It's in these moments of stillness that we can find clarity, calm, and inner strength. Silence allows us to tune into our thoughts, emotions, and surroundings, helping us navigate life's challenges with greater ease.

Training to say less and becoming more of an observer is also a path to peace. By choosing to listen more and speak less, we can avoid unnecessary conflicts, build stronger relationships, and conserve our energy.

Let's prioritize our peace, harmony, and inner balance. By doing so, we'll become more resilient, focused, and better equipped to handle life's challenges.”
