The Ultimate Karate Kid Collection - 4K + Blu-ray + Digital

Amazon has come out with a "Ultimate Karate Kid Collection" with all six films in a box set.

Looks cool but not sure if it is $220.00 cool.

You get some extras of course. You get 3 different Karate Kid patches, a two-sided head band, some trading cards (although why would you call them trading cards? You aren't going to need to trade them to complete the series, you are getting them all anyway) and it comes in a unique box that when opened plays sound effects from the films and has the iconic All Valley scene in a pop up form.

Anyway, looks kind of fun but I'm not sure how necessary it is.

You can buy similar patches already on numerous websites, and not all the Karate Kid films are great. Karate Kid 3, yikes.

And the Next Karate Kid with Hillary Swank, hmmmm .... I don't know. She didn't want to make an appearance in the Cobra Kai series so is she really all that?

Anyway, it is available if you want to order it from Amazon, here is the link.

Ok, this is getting a little out of hand

Today at Target I spotted this in the toy section, a Daniel Larusso Power Ranger action figure.

Have we officially "jumped the shark" now?

Karate Kid 3 - Terry Silver book

So I got lucky again on Ebay and found the book original Cobra Kai member Terry Silver gives to Daniel so he can learn "front sweeps."

I had hoped that this same book maybe was the one used in Karate Kid 1 in the "fix faucet" scene where Daniel is trying to learn karate from a book. I thought maybe this book was in the movie studio's prop dept and was used in both movies but no such luck, the illustrations and photos are different.

I'm still happy though that I was able to get this one. Another addition to the collection.

Got it!

A couple of weeks ago I mentioned how I would like to get my hands on a copy of the Family Circle magazine that sits under Daniel's karate book in the "fix faucet" scene. I also mentioned I thought it would be difficult unless there were a grandma out there somewhere that saves Family Circle magazines.

Well, a few Ebay searches later and I got it, I found it when I searched for "Peanuts" items.

April 1969 is the date on the magazine and it only cost 20 cents, in 1969 that is. I had to pay $10.00, well worth it though. My collection has begun.

Tea cups and lamp

I'd like to get some similar tea cups and that lamp. It shouldn't be impossible, they seem fairly generic. We shall see. I've already looked a little bit but have come up empty handed so far.

Family Circle magazine

The karate manual probably is impossible to find, but that Family Circle magazine could be a possibility. That is if anyone out there ever felt the need to hang on to Family Circle magazines. There could be a grandma out there somewhere, maybe.

Karate Kid action figures

I wish I had this! Complete with "Attack Alley and Training Center," and ninjas which of course never had anything to do with the Karate Kid. Johnny is even in there fighting off what appears to be either a ninja or a Star Wars stormtrooper.

Awesome.

The Holy Grail of Karate Kid memorabilia

The Sensei Kreese cardboard cut-out in the background of this photo has got to be the ultimate in Karate Kid memorabilia, the Holy Grail if you will. So far all of my internet searches have been fruitless but the search will continue.
