(Billy Zabka news!) - Scarpetta Season 2 cast: Meet the nine stars joining Nicole Kidman’s series

(from prestigeonline.com)

Scarpetta season 1 wrapped up in March 2026, and its cliffhanger ending has left fans with plenty of unanswered questions. Fortunately, the show is set to be back for a second season to unravel bigger mysteries with Nicole Kidman, Jamie Lee Curtis, Bobby Cannavale and Simon Baker as returning cast members. While Kidman will once again step into her role as Dr Kay, the chief medical examiner and protagonist of Patricia Cornwell’s book series, the season 2 cast also has some new additions to take on supporting roles.

Despite being a tightly produced, eight-episode outing, Scarpetta season 1 was packed with multiple timelines and subplots that left viewers hooked from the get-go. After the pilot season followed the events from Cornwell’s Postmortem (1990) and Autopsy (2021) novels, the season 2 storyline aims to get even murkier with the adaptation of Cruel and Unusual (1993) and The Body Farm (1994), as per reports.

Developed and written for television by Liz Sarnoff, the upcoming season went into production in Nashville shortly after the premiere of the first season, which recorded a whopping 11. 34 million viewership within a month. In the hopes of making an even bigger comeback, the second season infuses ample star power with the likes of David Arquette and Holland Taylor coming on board. Tentatively slated for a 2027 release, here’s everything to know about Scarpetta season 2, including its new and recurring cast members.

-New cast-

David Arquette - Widely considered a horror icon, primarily due to his role as Dewey Riley in the Scream franchise, David Arquette will now appear in Scarpetta season 2. After starring in Scream 7, which released earlier this year, the actor also wrapped up the filming of Evil Genius, alongside Patricia Arquette and David Harbour.

Jodi Balfour - After playing President Ellen Wilson on Apple’s For All Mankind and appearing in Ted Lasso season 3, Jodi Balfour has bagged a recurring role in season 2 of Scarpetta. Balfour first rose to fame through her acclaimed role as Gladys Witham in the Canadian drama series Bomb Girls (2012–2013).

Holland Taylor - Holland Taylor is best known for playing intimidating characters in shows such as Two and a Half Men, The Practice and The Morning Show. Now, the Emmy-winning actress is expected to bring her signature acting chops to the Prime Video series in the upcoming season.

William Zabka - If you happen to hear the phrase “no nercy” in season 2, don’t be too surprised, given that Karate Kid and Cobra Kai fame, William Zabka, takes on a new role in the show. Whether Zabka will play a grey character like Johnny Lawrence from his 1984 hit or take on a positive role is left to see.

Stella Baker - It’s going to be a family affair for the Baker clan, considering Simon Baker will be joined by his daughter Stella Baker in the second season. Stella, who has famously appeared in Republic of Sarah and also guest-starred in the final season of The Mentalist, will now star in Scarpetta. It will be interesting to see if the father-daughter duo get to share screen space in the series.

Kim Dickens - Deadwood star Kim Dickens also steps into the world of Scarpetta with the new season. Previously, she had recurring roles on sitcoms like Lost (2004-2010) and Friday Night Lights (2006-2011). More recently, she appeared in Jessica Biel’s thriller series, The Better Sister.

Troy Garity - Troy Garity is yet another new addition to the cast. Some of Garity’s notable past credits include the Danny Boyle sci-fi thriller Sunshine, Ruben Fleischer’s Gangster Squad and the critically acclaimed television series Boss, directed by Gus Van Sant. He is also best known for playing Isaac in the Barbershop franchise.

Jerod Haynes - Jerod Haynes, whose acting credits include Benji, Southside with You, Native Son, Sense8, and The Village, also joins Scarpetta season 2.

Michael “Killer Mike” Render - Grammy-winning rapper Michael “Killer Mike” Render, who bagged his first major acting role in FX’s The Lowdown, is set to record another memorable TV role with Scarpetta season 2.
